Valdoviño beach and A Frouxeira Lagoon

This is a very important transit and rest area for migratory birds. There is also a beach called Doniños, which is very popular with surfers. The whole seashore from Mugardos to Cariño has a special protection status as a Site of Community Importance (LIC: Lugar de Importancia Comunitaria) and as a Special Protection Area For Birds (ZEPA: Zona de Especial Protección para las Aves). Nearby in addition to the beach at Frouxeira we can also find the beaches of San Xurxo, Pantín, Pedrouzo, Doniños, Campelo and Vilarrube. The coast here is much more agricultural, with a much lower population and it is an area of great interest for the beauty of its flora and fauna.
